Eligibility Requirements
- Tenured teaching assistants in Egyptian public universities in the fields of economics, journalism, mass communication, political science, public administration, public policy, law and sociology
- Demonstrated English-language proficiency through TOEFL iBT or IELTS
- Meeting admission requirements of programs to which they are applying, including GRE for economics applicants
Award
The fellowship is awarded for two academic years. The fellowship covers a full waiver of tuition fees, textbooks, student activities, monthly stipend, one semester of English-language studies (optional), housing allowance for students from outside Cairo, as well as AUC bus transportation.

To Apply
Step 1: Download and submit the graduate application form at the Student Service Center, AUC New Cairo OR apply online.
Step 2: Complete and submit the online fellowship application.

- International TOEFL Exam (IBT) either online at www.ets.org or at AMIDEAST (tel 19263 - 38 Mohie El Din Abou El Ezz Street, Dokki, Giza)
- OR International English Language Testing System (IELTS) either online atwww.ielts.org or at the British Council (tel 19789 - Heliopolis Branch: 4 El Minya Street, Heliopolis, Cairo / Agouza Branch: 192 El Nil Street, Agouza, Giza)
- Applicants to the master's in economics should also take the required GRE at AMIDEAST.
Step 4: Submit a ten-page research proposal relevant to your future studies (3,000 - 4,000 words).

Deadline: Applications with all supporting documents should be submitted by December 1, 2013.
Selection
Shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview with the selection committee. Results will be announced January 10, 2014. English language and writing classes will start February 2, 2014.
